A top performer in her basic education graduating as Valedictorian, and in 1972 graduated summa cum laude as she earned her BBA degree, major in accounting.
Norma started her professional career as staff accountant in the banking group of the public accounting firm, Sycip, Gorres Velayo. Thereafter, she moved on to holding Controllership position with financial and management companies. Her post in the financial management of 200 real estate companies, the Best Inns of America, Inc. in Stockton, Ca. included the review of tax returns for 65 real estate companies. Since 2002 she holds the position as Controller for Inncal Inc. in Stockton, Ca. overseeing 50 real estate companies which comprises shopping centers, hotels, custom houses, and apartment complexes.
She serves in the Board of UEAAA holding the position as Secretary.

In the field of artificial intelligence, Elzar has written two books on AI titled “AI Hacked” published in 2019 and “AI Hacked 2” released in 2020. Both books are distributed globally by Amazon. Elzar has delivered lectures on AI across the United States, including, among others, Harvard University, UMass Global, UP Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles, as well as organizations and institutions like the Institute for Corporate Directors (ICD), Financial Executives (FINEX), the International Association of Financial Executive Institutes (IAFEI), ChinaBank’s Board of Directors and top executives, SM Prime Board of Directors and top leaders, the University of the Philippines (College of Engineering and College of Music), and the Ateneo De Manila University. He is currently Senior IT Director in a prestigious multi-billion-dollar research university in New York. Elzar is also distinguished as a recipient of a commendation from the Secretary of the US Veterans Affairs, Mr. Herschel Gober, who reported to the President of the United States.
In the field of music, he is known as Dodjie Simon in the Philippine music industry. Dodjie won in the 1988 KBP MusicFest for the song “Isang Dugo, Isang Lahi, Isang Musika.” In 1997, he won in three major songwriting competitions: Grand Prize in the 1997 Asia Song Festival in Hong Kong with Jaya, Second Place in the Manila International Song Festival with Lani Misalucha and the Metropop Song Festival with Lloyd Umali. Two years later, he won the Grand Prize in the 1999 Metropop Song Festival with Lani Misalucha.

He is now a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
